“Dave and I both really enjoyed these interviews. We shared many interests and usually came to the same conclusions on controversial topics. May he rest in peace.”Ed Opperman
David McGowan was an investigative journalist, author, and internet activist who focused on deep politics. McGowan was an early critic of the US government's official narrative about the events of September 11, 2001. He died at the age of 55 on November 23, 2015, six months after being diagnosed with an unusually aggressive form of lung cancer.
McGowan is best known for his book “Weird Scenes Inside the Canyon,” which looks at the counterculture of the 1960s from a different perspective. The book's essential thesis is that the CIA was influencing the Laurel Canyon music scene, affecting several prominent musicians who grew to prominence in the area, as part of some MKUltra, COINTELPRO operations. He presents a number of verifiable facts that don't necessarily prove his point, but do make a compelling case. Even if he doesn't have answers for all of them, he does raise some interesting questions that would warrant further investigation.
McGowan has also published other books, including “Programmed To Kill” and has published a number of books on deep politics and deep events.
